Microsoft SDET Job Interview

Company: Microsoft, Job Type: Engineering-Tech, Job Title: Software Design Engineer in Test

My Microsoft interview didn’t get the best start. My flight to Denver was delayed, so I ended up not making it to Seattle until around 10 p.m., making for a pretty late night. After finally making it to my hotel, I ironed my clothes and tried to get some sleep.

Microsoft starts their interviews early. 8 a.m. early. I’m not too much of a morning person, but I managed to get awake and put together with plenty of time. Microsoft has a lobby just for interview candidates, including a Micorsoft Surface demo unit and a 360 with ......

My Microsoft Interview for Search Marketing Specialist

Company: Microsoft, Job Type: Marketing, Job Title: Search Marketing Specialist

My interview took place at Red West at 12pm. Generally, you don’t get the names of people in your interview loop, but my recruiter actually provided me with the first three names. I spent the morning looking over the Microsoft Careers website, reading some background articles on search that a professor had sent me, and also Googlestalking all my interviewers to see whether they had anything interesting about them online. I knew Microsoft was a “casual” workplace (they always show up to recruit in jeans), but I went to my interview in a suit anyway because I figured this was ......

An Interview with Microsoft

Company: Microsoft, Job Type: Engineering-Tech, Job Title: Software Design Engineer

On Feb 10, 2006 I had my interview with Microsoft for the position of Software Design Engineer (SDE). I submitted my resume when they came to my campus (Univ. of Maryland, Baltimore County) last September and had an interview with them in October and got the on-site interview call. I went to interview totally unprepared, not knowing what to expect. People told me about famous puzzles and linked list questions that they usually ask. I was lazy and didnt prepare much. I just read a bit of "Programming Interviews Exposed" and did a few problems from the net. I also ......

Associate Product Manager

Company: Microsoft, Job Type: Marketing, Job Title: Associate Product Manager

I interviewed for an associate product manager position with Microsoft just prior to my college graduation. Microsoft has an exceptionally well oiled recruiting machine, and I had a great time interviewing with them. They really know how to make you feel welcome, and challenge you at the same time. The first step in the college recruitment process is the college recruiter assigned for your school. He/She will have insight into the available positions and will "scout" for appropriate candidates. The recruiter will perform the first interview with you, after which you will be invited on to the MS campus if ......

My Microsoft Job Interview

Company: Microsoft, Job Type: Engineering-Tech, Job Title: Software Design Engineer in Test

Executive Summary..... Interviewing is time consuming, tiring, and a lot of work. But the reward for doing well is a full time job. Treat this experience as a challenge towards something prolific ahead. My only advice would be to keep up the spirits till you actually find what you perfectly blend into. I would always rate my experience in interviewing for microsoft as the perhaps the most thought provoking and a great learning experience. What else? Be well prepared, study hard. Buy books. Talk to friends. Aggressively pursue interview opportunities. They rarely come to you. Make sure you can perform well ......
