Boston Consulting Group Case Study
Company: Boston Consulting Group,
Job Type: Consulting,
Job Title: AssociateThe general part of the interview was pretty easy, a little about my background, why I thought I would be a good fit for consulting, what I knew about the company (make sure to do your homework!), etc. The case study was a little tricky. Mine was about 2 companies that were merging and how to make decisions about conflicting policies at the organizations (i.e. one firm had a strict policy about being at work by 9am and the other firm thought it was important to have more flexible work hours). This was a bit tricky to work through, while ......

Consulting Job Deloitte
Company: Deloitte,
Job Type: Consulting,
Job Title: AnalystCase studies baby! If you want to be a consultant then learn them and love them. This was another case-study interview. I had a couple before this so I was ready for it, if you haven't had a case-study interview then do some research online and find a few examples so you can practice on your own. Deloitte is on the top of its game in the consulting arena so they're looking for the cream of the crop (yah yah, everybody says that, but I think for Deloitte it's fairly true). So they want you to be creative, intelligent, rational, ......

Consulting Job at Bain
Company: Bain and Co.,
Job Type: Consulting,
Job Title: AnalystInterviewing at Bain is an experience of its own. As with most consulting interviews, it's mostly based on case studies. But Bain is a lot smaller than the giant consulting firms so they can be more selective in their interviewing, it's really a cream-of-the-crop type place. I was astounded by the number of people from Bain that go to Harvard B School. I could go into the details of the different rounds of interviews, etc. But that can be taken right off Bain's website, or explained by the recruiter. Based on my experience I'm just going to use this post ......

Consulting Job Accenture
Company: Accenture,
Job Type: Consulting,
Job Title: AnalystWhen I was a junior I did a "Consultant for a Day" program where I got to shadow some of the current consultants at Accenture and learn a little bit more about what "consulting" really means. I found it very interesting and would definitely recommend it. I also made a couple of connections there that may have had an effect on me getting an offer. You quickly learn in the business world that meeting the right people can be super important, so never turn down an opportunity to stick your face out there and introduce yourself to people. A good ......

MIT Consulting Job
Company: MIT,
Job Type: Consulting,
Job Title: ConsultantThe interview was pretty laid back. They went over my resume and what I did and what I would do there. I have to say they didn’t put me on the defense. The tech questions were not in-depth but then it was a manager who interviewed me. I really thought he was going to grill me on every little thing but didn’t. The night before I started there I hardly slept. I thought I would be put with a 12 year old genius who would be programming in Fortran in one hand and Pascal with the other at the same ......
